Question: I want to go to Typhoon Lagoon on my on the 2nd day of arriving in Florida. Can I collect my Disney tickets from here?
Answer: It really depends what type of ticket you’ve got and where you bought it from, but the short answer is probably not because you can’t pick up park tickets from a Water Park. Most tickets purchased in advance, including those sold by Disney directly, are now e-tickets, meaning you need to take your confirmation (and some ID) to Will Call and they provide you with your hard ticket at that point. There may be some retailers that sell the hard ticket in advance, but none of the ones I’ve used do this. If you need to go to Will Call, you need to do this at one of the four main Disney Parks – i.e. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. I believe it is also possible to do this at the Transportation and Ticket Centre and, depending on the ticket, at Disney Resort Hotels. However, you can’t pick up from a water park.
There are a few ways around this. You can purchase a water park ticket from a water park. Therefore if you were planning to visit the water parks only once and the Disney parks only a few times, it may work out cost effective to purchase your tickets at the time – so the water park on that second day and the Disney park tickets separately the first time you visit a Disney park. It is not ideal but if you weren’t planning many trips to Disney and especially if you weren’t planning to ‘park hop’ between the parks, it can work out economical to do this. It won’t work for you financially if you’ll be spending a lot of time at the Disney parks.
You could also stop at one of the nearby Disney hotels and pick up your tickets there, if you’re driving. Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans are both close by. I know you can certainly pick up tickets here if you are a Disney guest and if they’re bought from Disney directly – I would have thought you could do the same if you’re not staying at a Disney hotel, but I couldn’t swear to it.
The final option (and what I’d probably do if you haven’t already bought them) is to purchase the tickets in advance from Disney directly and to do so by phoning their call centre. You can pay a £5 surcharge to have the tickets sent to you in advance and you would therefore have the tickets for your water park trip. You are unable to request this if you book online although I believe you can phone the centre and request an early ticket release if you have booked via Disney and have paid in full – I’ve heard this isn’t always possible, but it might be worth a try. The number is 0870 24 24 900.
If you’re staying in a Disney hotel, you can’t receive your park tickets ahead of time in the way I’ve just described as they’ll be connected to your room key which you receive when you check in. But if that were the case, it wouldn’t be a problem as you’ll already have your tickets when you visit the water park on the second day, so I assume this is not the case for you.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news – I really don’t understand why Disney don’t enable you to pick up from a water park – I can only assume it is because they only have two ticket desks there and it would possibly take too long. I hope one of these suggestions helps you find a way around it.
